Apple Tree Project

Hello everyone

On the 25th of March we had a special participation in a different project.
The Apple Tree project is a collaboration between various schools in Europe. In this cooperation were present students from The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Turkey, Czech Republic, Estonia and Portugal.

This project is about intercultural experience. The children selected go to each of the host countries to spend a few days, know the culture and people. They stay with local kids, in order to have a better time. In this case the host country was Romania, in Ramnicu Valcea.

As you can see we were using recycled materials. With them we made an apple tree and chandeliers.
It's easy and fun. And it can be done with everyday objects like bottles, toilet paper roles, etc.

It was a different day for us, but in a really nice way. I hope you liked the stay in Romania and our day together. I know we all loved it.

See you next time.

Language Classes

Hello everyone

While doing the activities in the schools, we all have been giving language classes in the public library in Ramnicu Valcea.

Each of the volunteers give classes in their mother tongue. It has also been a challenge for us to organize this classes, since very few of us have experience in teaching. We are trying to do the best we can to teach you all the basic about our languages.

I hope you like it.

So if you are interested you can still sigh up for any of this classes.

Just to let you know, the Portuguese class has been moved to Tuesday, at the same hour, from 18h to 19h.

We hope that more of you will be interested in learning something about our languages and our cultures.

We are waiting for you from Monday to Thursday.

School Activities

Hello everyone

After our Arrival training in Predeal, we started our activities in the local schools. So our real work began.
We have been planing classes everyday in order to try and do something different with the kids.

It's a very hard process. We are not teachers and sometimes we have to improvise something to do. We are all still getting used to this new phase of our project.

We are divided in two groups, 5 voluntaries in each group. This means that we are working in two different schools. One of the schools is in the city (School Nr 4) and the other is in the village (Gorano School) next to the city.

We first started with name games to get to know all the children. Our group as a lot of classes so sometimes it's hard to know all the names.

And in Gorano School it happened like this.

As you can see you have been working hard with the children, but also having a lot of fun.

We hope that you are having fun with us as well.

Thank you all for everything.
